WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR VISITING MR. OBSNIUK'S CLASS GUIDELINES PAGE!
If you missed class or are looking to access class work from home you must go to the calendar on the appropriate class page and find the date that was missed or the date an assignment/project was started. An icon at the top of the day indicates that a downloadable document is attached to that date on the calendar. With the exception of certain exams, you will not receive printed documents in my classes.
It is important to keep up with all class assignments in order to avoid falling too far behind. Sufficient class time is given to complete MOST assignments. Students may only turn in late work if given prior approval from Mr. O. Late work will not be accepted if a student is not using class time to the fullest. Additionally, though often not required, students may find it advantageous to spend extra time out of class working on certain projects in order to achieve a desired grade.
3B4ME: In order to help build independent learners Mr. Obsniuk implements a "Three before me" (3B4ME) policy in all classes. This means that when working on an assignment (individual or group) students must use the 3 B's:
Student Active Involvement:
Students will be asked to be actively involved in class each and every day. Active involvement in class includes being aware of the following five questions:
1.) What is the student doing? (awareness of the learning target);
2.) How is the student doing? (with regard to meeting the learning target);
3.) How does the student know he/she is doing well?;
4.) How can the student improve?;
5.) Who/how can the student ask for help?
Class Behavior Expectations:
The Golden Rule: treat other people and property the way that you would want your person and property treated.
Discipline Policy: Mr. O. would like to treat you like the adults you are quickly becoming, however, if you cannot act like an adult you will be subject to the following procedure: 1st offense- verbal warning and/or written reflection; 2nd offense- call home; 3rd offense- referral to assistant principal.
CHAMPS: Classrooms behavior expectations are detailed more specifically using the CHAMPS model displayed in class.

- Brain - Think! Was there something you might have missed? Check the class calendar, notes, re-read the directions for an assignment.
- Browse - Can you find the answer on the Internet? Locating information is an important skill. In the technology field professionals often solve problems by reviewing comments, logs, manufacturer FAQs, technical websites, newsgroups, computer manuals, device/software manuals and help features, online forums, conducting Internet searches, and asking colleagues...
- Buddy - Who else might know? Learning the names of classmates, building relationships with them, and being able to count on them is a GOOD thing! Ask three (3) classmates prior to posing your question to Mr. Obsniuk. If you and three (3) others come to Mr. Obsniuk with a question, we will review the question and find a solution as a class to clarify and assure that EVERYONE has the proper understanding of an issue/concept.
